Ensuring Accurate, Timely, and Efficient Financial Transactions

The Washoe County Human Services Agency (HSA) Bookkeeping team provides essential financial support to the agency and its employees. By managing a wide variety of transactions and financial processes, this team ensures that HSA programs and services operate smoothly and efficiently.

How We Support HSA Programs

Transaction Processing: Bookkeeping handles vendor invoices, credit card transactions, and funds held in trust for agency clients, including SSI and tribal funds. Their careful processing ensures that billing and payments are completed accurately and on time.

Managing Agency Resources: The team oversees deposits, purchase requisitions, petty cash, bus passes, vendor records, gift cards, and travel requests, arrangements, and reimbursements. Their work ensures that staff have the resources needed to serve clients effectively.

Agency-Wide Orders and Inventory: Bookkeeping manages orders for goods, services, and materials, ranging from office supplies to car seats, playpens, and personal protective equipment (PPE) during the pandemic. This ensures programs and staff have what they need to operate safely and efficiently.

Volume and Accuracy: Over the course of a year, the Bookkeeping team processes more than 160,000 transactions on behalf of HSA staff, clients, and families, providing critical support behind the scenes to maintain agency operations.

Strengthening the Agency

The Bookkeeping team’s careful, efficient work ensures that HSA programs run smoothly, staff have the resources they need, and clients and families receive the support they rely on. Though often behind the scenes, their contributions are essential to the agency’s success and the well-being of the community.
